GETTING HERE
Reaching Marfa is best viewed as being part of the experience. Most guests arrive by car, after flying into El Paso or Midland/Odessa, both roughly three hours from Marfa or as part of a West Texas road trip.
Guests traveling by private aircraft may fly into Marfa Municipal Airport, located just north of town and serving private and general aviation. For those arriving by train, Amtrak’s Sunset Limited stops in nearby Alpine, a short drive from Marfa. Rental vehicles may be arranged in advance through Trans-Pecos Jeeps, an Alpine-based rental company that offers delivery to the Alpine Amtrak Station and Marfa. Visit Marfa also offers a small fleet of rental vehicles located at the Visitor Center for guests lodging within the city of Marfa, with advance reservations required.
Because public transportation in the area is limited, we recommend arranging a vehicle before arrival.
However you arrive, the journey to Marfa is an invitation to slow down, look around, and settle into the rhythm of Far West Texas.
